The Arc of the South Shore Kicks Off “Where in the World/Friend of the Arc” Contest; Trip for Two to Antigua Grand Prize

HINGHAM, WEYMOUTH, MA, ISSUED JUNE 1, 2023…The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities announces the launch of its exciting and unique “Where in the World” contest!

The promotional campaign asks contest participants to send in photos of themselves wearing Arc t-shirts – from locales here, near or far. Photos can be posted on The Arc’s Facebook page using the hashtag #ArcFriend.

Random drawings for Arc swag and gift certificates will be held throughout the summer. The grand prize of a trip for two to Antigua will be randomly drawn on September 8th.

“A number of staff, board members, and friends have already posted their photos, with one of our board members shown proudly wearing his t-shirt in Paris!” said Abigail Parrilla, CEO of The Arc of the South Shore.

Visit www.arcsouthshore.com to order “I’m a Friend of The Arc” shirts and other swag and join in the fun!

The contest comes following the recent introduction of the nonprofit’s new slogan – “Become a Friend of the Arc,” a message the organization hopes individuals, families, and businesses take to heart through involvement in any number of ways, including donations, volunteering, event sponsorship, and private philanthropy.

About The Arc of the South Shore, Inc.
The Arc of the South Shore (The Arc) was founded in 1951 when a group of individuals created a school for children with disabilities. Then, in 1967, The Arc was deeded property at Webb State Park in Weymouth; the space gave the agency a permanent home and the opportunity to expand. By the end of the 1980s, The Arc became a multi-service agency. Today, The Arc is a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities.

These services include an Autism Resource Center, early intervention program, community supports, employment services, day supports and habilitation programs, in-home care, and residential services. All of their programs are based on their six core values of people first, community, transparency, self-determination, diversity, and respect. The Arc serves participants from communities throughout the South Shore, including Abington, Milton, Quincy, Randolph, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate, and Norwell. Through their 72-year history, they have helped more than 100,000 people
